There is no strict upper age limit for the Job Seeker Visa. However, applicants over 45 may face additional requirements including proof of adequate pension provision. Younger professionals are generally viewed more favorably.

Language Requirements

German language skills are not mandatory for the visa application but are strongly recommended. Most employers require at least B1 or B2 German. English may be sufficient for IT and multinational companies. Learning German before arrival significantly improves job prospects.

Financial Proof

You must prove you can support yourself for 6 months without public funds. Required amount is approximately EUR 6,162 (EUR 1,027 per month). Funds can be demonstrated through blocked account, bank statements, or a formal obligation letter from a sponsor.

Health Insurance Coverage

Comprehensive health insurance valid in Germany for the entire 6-month period is mandatory. Travel health insurance with at least EUR 30,000 coverage is accepted initially. Once employed, you switch to German statutory or private health insurance.
